Q: When will the Rogers Sierra No.3 be updated?
A: The original version available on Patreon which is just a glorified 7.5 minute long cutscene will never be updated and is unsupported as of August 2021. Its replacement, known as the Advanced Train System, is under development but is not ready for integration with BTTFV at this time. There is no ETA on when it will be finished as only a single dev is working on it and it requires a lot of reverse-engineering how GTA V works.
Q: Does BTTFV work in FiveM/RAGECOOP/Online/etc?
A: No, and never will. BTTFV has no server-side scripting and as such is wholly incompatible with any form of multiplayer. In addition, BTTFV relies heavily on ScriptHookVDotNet, which currently has serious compatibility issues with Rage Plugin Hook. Thus any mod which uses RPH would be incompatible with BTTFV by default.
Q: When will you add the hoverboard/Jules-Verne Time Train/more cars/etc?
A: When someone joins the mod team who has the skills and desire to create and implement those things. Do you have those skills? Join us! Otherwise, you will be waiting a very, very long time.
Q: I saw some YouTube videos where the map changed when they went to the future, and there was a story mode! When I play the mod I cannot find these. How do I enable them?
A: Those YouTube videos were created using video editing and are not real. No map changes are implemented, nor is there any story mode present in BTTFV at this time.
Q: I tried to time travel but when I go 88 MPH the time machine just makes noise but doesn’t time travel. Why?
A: You did not refuel the time machine. Please walk to the back of the time machine and refuel it before trying to time travel, just like in the movies.
Q: But I have Infinite Fuel enabled in Settings!
A: Infinite Fuel just gives the player infinite fuel in their inventory. You still have to put that fuel into the time machine.
Q: Where do I find Plutonium?
A: In 1985, you need to steal it from the Libyans. There will be a marker for their hidden base if you’re sitting in a time machine that requires plutonium and you don’t have any left to use. After 1985 you can purchase plutonium from your garage. Starting in 2015 you can convert to a Mr. Fusion. But before 1985, you are just as stuck as Marty was in 1955!
Q: Where do I find trash to stick into Mr. Fusion?
A: Walk up to dumpsters and trash cans and press the ‘interaction’ button. On keyboard this is normally the ‘E’ key, while on Xbox controllers this is normally DPAD-Right.
Q: My DeLorean Time Machine has the hoodbox from BTTF3 on it but when I try to turn on the time circuits it says the time circuit control tubes aren’t warmed up. What gives?
A: Walk to the front of the car and press the ‘interaction’ button to warm up the control tubes. On keyboard this is normally the ‘E’ key, while on Xbox controllers this is normally DPAD-Right.
Q: The radio doesn’t work in the time machine. How do I turn on the radio?
A: Due to the hover conversion code, the radio is buggy in DeLorean Time Machines and has been disabled. In 2.4.0+ the radio will work in non-DeLorean Time Machines that are not hover converted.
Q: What time do I set the Bulova alarm clock for to do the lightning run?
A: There is no set time for this, because the time changes based on where you decide to start the run. Do what Doc would have done; use a stopwatch (your smartphone has one!) and time how long it takes to go from a dead stop at your preferred starting position to crossing the lampposts. Subtract that time from 10:04:00 PM. The result is what time to set on the Bulova alarm clock. Good luck!
